Description

Naga Bhut Jolokia translated means Ghost pepper, and it is this name that has become more commonly used.

It is a hybrid of Capsicum chinense and Capsicum frutescens, and has been eaten for generations in India where it was considered too hot for outsiders.

It was only in 2007, when it was declared the world's hottest pepper at over 1 million Scoville units, that its popularity became what it is now across the globe.

It has one of the most distinctive smells and burns of any of the superhots.  It takes a while to kick in, but the burn can then continue for upwards of 10 minutes.
